A few minutes of practice, every day, by text

 

Tell Language Textapp which language you're learning and roughly how much you know. Every day, at a time you choose, it texts you one short message in that language: a question about your day, your plans, food, or a tiny scenario like ordering at a café. Answer in the language, as well as you can. You get your sentence back corrected, the one or two fixes that matter explained in plain English, and a reply so the conversation keeps going.

 

Language Textapp is an AI, not a teacher. Its replies are written by software, so it can get things wrong. It is not for emergencies or medical care, and it is for adults 18 and over.

 

There is nothing to install, no account to create, and nothing to memorize. It works on any phone that can text.

 

 

How it works

 

1. Text Hi to the number above and say which language you want to practice, like Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese or Korean.
2. Say how much you know: beginner, intermediate, advanced, or just describe it ("two years in high school, very rusty").
3. Each day you get one message at your level. Beginners get the English meaning alongside it.
4. Reply in the language. Mistakes are the point: each one comes back fixed, with a short note on why.

 

 

What you can ask it to do

 

• Correct your replies, keeping what you meant.
• Tell you how to say something, or what a word means.
• Explain its last message if you didn't understand it, with an example answer.
• Show how you're doing: days practiced, replies, and the slips you make most.
• Make it easier or harder, switch languages, or move the daily text to a different time, like "text me at 7pm instead".
• Stop at any time by texting STOP. Text START to come back.

 

Learning Japanese, Korean, Mandarin or Russian? Beginners and intermediates also get the romanization (romaji, pinyin and so on), and you can reply in it.

 

 

Why text instead of an app

 

Language apps work while you keep opening them. A text arrives whether or not you remembered, and answering one in Spanish takes a minute. Writing your own sentences and getting them corrected is the practice most apps skip.

Is a real person texting me? No. Language Textapp is an AI: its replies are written by software, and it says so.

 

Do I need to download anything or make an account? No. It works on any phone that can text, with a U.S. number, and your number is your account.

 

Is my number safe? We never sell or rent your information, and we don't use your messages for advertising. Messages are deleted 12 months after your last text. Details are in our privacy policy.

 

How do I stop? Text STOP at any time and the messages stop. To have your data deleted sooner, email contact@textapp.co.
